And when they say walk on,
how do you know you can be strong?
Where do you get the strength to carry on?
What can ever tell you who and why?
And how do you know when to stop?

Life is a road scarred by multiple accidents,
every one leaving its own mark,
an obstacle that has to be overcome.
While you may struggle and fall
you have to pull yourself up, and carry on.

What you need doesn’t come from within –
no one is strong enough to lead a life alone –
but you find your strength in others:
Those you know. Those you knew.
Those who love you.

And when it feels like all is lost,
like the only future is the pain to come,
the present is full of the agony of now,
and all the joy is lost in the past:
just look around; see what you have.

And know that,
wherever you may be,
whatever you may have lost or won,
you’ll always have our love.
And that’s all you need to be strong.
