Literature Text

I still feel obligated
to read all the words,
even though I know
they're not about me.

I still feel obligated
to stay up all night,
even though I know
it isn't me you want.

I still feel obligated
to write about you,
even though I know
it's endlessly repetitive.

I still feel obligated
and I always will,
even though I know
it's so horribly generic.
This I wrote very quickly today -- seems to be entirely common for me to post stuff when I write it now :p

I think the last line is basically a comment on the whole poem. Others may disagree...

Starting each stanza was a nice touch, it echoed in my head (obligated, obligated) when I read it, but the whole piece was equally done. The emotion you brought to this has both passionate and unrealistic expectations to it, and while reading it, you let the reader know what the ending is going to be like.

Looks like you hit your soul with this.
