Literature Text

Peer through the green glass
of that perfect window
and you see it sitting there,
inside his glowing eyes.

Shifting and stirring,
in the darkness moving;
casting a subtle light –
fiercely penetrating.

It pulls and tugs away;
draws your heart to his.
It's not like you have a choice.
It's not like you want one.

Closer. The light dazzles;
burns with pure feeling.
This is how it's meant to be.
You have always known.

You know what you see,
for you see it in you:
your soul, reflected
in his eyes forever.
I wrote this just the other day, loosely inspired by some pictures I took of my eye (one of which is used, in a slightly Photoshopped form, as the pic for this poem). I have to say, I'm rather pleased with it, all told.
